    The most commonly sampled break in drum & bass is the "Amen," taken from a 45 by American soul group the Winstons - a B-side of _Color Me Father_, _Amen Brother_ MP3 (vK)atomjacked inventory cache.  The Amen's snare sound and cymbal crash proved very versatile when either internal linklooped flat out or sliced and diced into new configurations.  the 7" was released in 1969 on Metromedia.  The drummer was G.C. Coleman.
