i was told once that the correct term was "matrix scribe".  who knows... whatever the case may be, visiting a vinyl pressing plant was a revelation.  the "death of vinyl" is definitely a myth.  after the cd "revolution" (no pun intended), vinyl indeed became collector's items, but it also mushroomed the dj culture, as well as taking in the DIY indie labels.  so right in line with capitalism, it goes to show that nothing is forever expansive, and nothing ever dies out.  you just have to find that optimal tension and scaling, for something to thrive... the niche market thrives to this day, and grows steadily.  being efficient and non-wasteful in a capitalist system encourages you to use up as much space as possible, so why waste 1/4 inch thick plastic when you can write messages on it?  here are some from my collection: - @Om* 10/3/01
